Not only does master guitarist Gary Lucas do justice to a series of musical themes from various films (Casino Royal, The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance, Psycho, et. al), he also includes several original pieces that blow the roof off with their finger-picking excellence, their thematic wizardry, and their deep, high, and varied melodic/harmonic improvisations. To cite only three — J'accuse, Vertigo, and especially Entr'acte, a 20-minute masterpiece performed live. I eagerly look forward to exploring this guitarist's extraordinary music further.
