Big Dance Theater Company Takes Gary's Music on the Road
New York City's Big Dance Theater Company, the award-winning modern dance
troupe led by choreographer Annie-B Parsons and Paul Lazar, are featuring
several of Gary's recorded works in their new international touring
project Plan B.
The ensemble chose one of Gary's Chinese pop instrumental arrangements
from his "Edge of Heaven" album, and Gary's cover of Kraftwerk's
"Autobahn", for their new project which debuts Jan. 8-11th at the Walker Arts Center in
Minneapolis, and then plays the Bonn Theater Festival June 15-20th in
Germany. (Gary is also making a live appearance at the Bonn Kunstmuseum
on Feb. 15th with his Chinese pop project to commemorate an exhibition of
2000 years of Chinese art being held there). Plan B will also come to
NYC's Dance Theater Workshop in the fall of 2004.
Also, Big Dance Theater's
production of Antigone, which was a big critical and audience success at
DTW in NYC last winter, and features Gary's recording of "Songstress on
the Edge of Heaven", will be at the Kampnagel Festival in Germany from
Jan. 23-29th, Chicago's Classic Stage Company Feb. 27-29th, and Classic
Stage Co. in NYC April 28-May 23rd.
