"Lalee's Kin" Nominated for Best Documentary of 2001

"Lalee's Kin", the upcoming Maysles Films HBO documentary about an indomitable black share-cropping family in Mississippi, featuring an original score by Gary, was just nominated for Best Documentary of the Year by the Independent Spirit Awards. David Ansen of Newsweek also listed "Lalee's Kin" in his Best Documentary section in his Top 15 Films of 2001 (Jan. 14th issue).
