Gary Super Fly in Philly With "The Golem"/Mother Europe Beckons

Gary rocked the City of Brotherly Love on Saturday Sept. 9th with a packed performance of his "Golem" score in front of 250 cheering fans at the Philadelphia Jewish Community Center's Gershman Y. Taking the music to new levels of abandon, Gary embellished his one-man band version of the original Lucas/Horn music to the 1920 German expressionist masterpiece like a man possessed. Feedback in the traditional Q&A was overwhelmingly positive, with one older gentleman recounting his seeing the film upon its original release in America (1927) and how Gary's guitar accompaniment added new subtleties and dimensions to his recollection of the film. Mr. Lucas will perform his Golem live to the film on his upcoming fall European solo tour, playing it at the Reithalle in Berne, Switzerland on Wednesday Sept. 27th and again in Amsterdam at the BimHuis on Saturday Sept. 30th, along with a solo set.
