Lucas Seduces St. Louis
Gary made a lightning blitz into the midwest with a packed solo Golem
performance at the St. Louis Jewish Film Festival on June 18th, which
brought out an enthusiastic crowd that ranged agewise from 5 to 75,
including local hero David Suhrkamp, former lead singer of one of Gary's
fave 70's art-rock bands, Pavlov's Dog, who admitted to being a longtime
Lucas fan. Gary also made the media circuit there with two radio
appearances live on public listener supported KPAX as well as humongous
AM radio institution KMOX, "the Voice of St. Louis", where Gary
astonished the primetime talk radio listening audience with a frantic
acoustic version of "The Junker and the Jewess" from his Golem score.
The media attention was capped with a two page interview spread in the
St. Louis weekly, the Riverfront Times—click here to read.
