Gary Scores a Hit at Sundance

Gary's original music for the new Maysles Films documentary "Lalee's Kin: The Legacy of Cotton" was singled out for praise in the January 22nd issue of Variety, the show business bible. Reviewing the new films on display at the Sundance Festival in Park City, Utah, Variety gave the film by Susan Froemke and Deborah Dickson with Albert Maysles high marks indeed, ending their review with a nod to Gary's score:

"Gary Lucas' Delta blues guitar music adds vivid color to this report from America's forgotten underbelly".

The film, an up-close examination of poverty in rural Mississippi, will premiere in June on HBO.
