  • From Gary's Archive: Check out an ad Gary conceived and executed with art director Jay Rohrer for the release of The Clash's second album "Give 'Em Enough Rope" in the US circa 1978. The ad ran in Trouser Press Magazine, and Gary's copy line "The Only English Group That Matters" was shortened to "The Only Group The Matters" in subsequent ads Gary wrote for The Clash. The underlying text which the Clash album cover is layered over is a gossip column lifted from the Soho Weekly News.
