When he was a public high school student in the late 60’s in Syracuse NY, GARY LUCAS contributed music reviews to several local underground newspapers—COGITO, Organism and the Nottingham Forester.

When he was a student at Yale University in the early 70’s, GARY LUCAS wrote a series of reviews and features for ZOO WORLD MAGAZINE, a nationally distributed rock tabloid which also published the writings of Lester Bangs, Richard Meltzer, and other well-known rock critics of the day, and also in the YALE DAILY NEWS.
