· FROM GARY: Tomorrow night Tues. October 22nd I am appearing on a panel discussion after the conclusion of the searing play OUR CLASS, which centers on the massacre of the entire Jewish community of Jedwabne Poland by their Polish neighbors on July 10th 1941. I have skin in the game as it were as direct relatives on my mother's side were incinerated in a barn there at the conclusion of this hideous pogrom.

The panel is hosted by the ADL, and I’m sharing the dais with other descendants of victims of the massacre, some of whom attended with me the official apology ceremony in Jedwabne backed by the then Polish government in July 2001.

OUR CLASS is on now at the Classic Stage Company on E. 13th St. here in Manhattan, and is not to be missed.

· From Gary: Yass Body turned up in NYC some years ago at Arlene's Grocery all the way from Lille France where he's based to play the annual NYC Tribute to Jerry Buckley (he is a huge Jeff fan). He came up to me and told me he'd had a dream that he was onstage performing with me—and that he decided to act on it! We quickly ran through a couple of my songs with Jeff and went out there and played. It sounded fantastic!! We made plans to play and work together and I always invited him on my subsequent gigs in Paris. Right before lockdown in Nov. 2019 we recorded an EP at a great studio, Studio 4A Sound Factory in Forges-les-Eaux Normandie run by Ari Sebag, and last year our 5-song EP finally emerged digitally on NOA Music. Now it's on CD—copies signed by Gary available now in the Merch section!

This piece was developed by Gary to perform at MIT a couple years ago for his friend and partner Alison Clancy. Alison is the Principal Dancer of the Metropolitan Opera Ballet Corps and she had opened their new production onstage dancing to the orchestral version solo alone on stage before the opera proper commenced—the new production was sadly closed a week after opening because of Lockdown.

· On the occasion of Holocaust Remembrance Day (YomShoah), check out a new clip by Diane Lindarte for Gary's song "Jedwabne" with full lyrics.

Written by Gary after attending an official apology ceremony in July 2001 in the Polish town of Jedwabne on behalf of the Polish government bearing witness to the annihilation of the Jewish townsfolk in July 1941.
Gary's family on his mother's side hailed from Jedwabne, and those members of his family who had not previously emigrated to America all perished in this horrible pogrom

A long-running series about newly arrived immigrants to the city attempting to cope with New York's particular brand of insanity, the series features my longtime partner Feifei Yang and Argentine singer/actress Carmen Borla among other cool actors and was produced by David Hellman. Special thanks to Erdem Helvacioglu who engineered the sessions and contributed additional music.
